KUALA LUMPUR (Reuters) – The Singapore Airways (OTC:) (SIA) plane used for a flight during which a passenger died throughout extreme turbulence returned to Singapore on Sunday, 5 days after its emergency touchdown in Bangkok, Channel Information Asia (CNA) reported.
A 73-year-old British man died of a suspected coronary heart assault and dozens have been injured on Tuesday after flight SQ321, flying from London to Singapore, encountered what the airline described as sudden, excessive turbulence whereas flying over Myanmar.
The flight carrying 211 passengers and 18 crew diverted to Bangkok for an emergency touchdown. Not less than 43 individuals who have been on board stay hospitalised in Bangkok, a hospital within the Thai capital stated on Saturday.
Flight monitoring service Flightradar24 confirmed the plane, working as flight SQ9071, left Bangkok on Sunday at 0349 GMT and arrived in Singapore at 0539 GMT.
“SIA obtained the mandatory approvals from the related authorities in Singapore and Thailand, the investigators, and the plane producer, and the plane was cleared by our Engineering and Flight Operations groups, earlier than departure,” Singapore Airways instructed CNA.
